MUSICAL BRAIN SCAN SERIES: JAMES LEESLEY
Dear sixties souls, we hope you all had a groovy week-end!
We're very thrilled to introduce you today a new GMK Musical Brain Scan playlist. For this new episode we would like to introduce to you James Leesley. James is Studio Electrophonique.
Late at night he enters his home studio in Sheffield to write and record songs purely for the love of making words fit melodies and melodies fit chords, capturing them on his tape machine.
"Using a simple tape machine facilitated my ideas. The songs were in 4-track form in my head, so it felt right just recording it as it was in my mind, in one or two takes" - James Leesly
In his own words "Studio Electrophonique only really exists as music. Though it wouldn’t be wrong to say it’s this imaginary abandoned palace I can’t keep away from. I’m there all the time. Alone. Decorating."
We've asked James for his musical brain scan, here it is:
Song To The Siren - This Mortal Coil
Every Stars Shivers in the Stars - Laele Neal
