MUSICAL BRAIN SCAN SERIES: PIET ALDER
Dear indies preachers, we're very thrilled to introduce you today a new Musical Brain Scan. This curative blog series is deeply focused on music. It consists of 15 songs playlists curated by creative minds with who we share common DNA. For about an hour, get to know new groovy humans by discovering their musical brain scan.
For this second playlist we would like to introduce to you Piet Alder, the founder and talents digger of Taxi Gauche Records.
Taxi Gauche Records started as an independent record label in 2018 to connect the psychedelic and garage rock scene in Zurich, Switzerland. Piet has focused his efforts with the label to bring attention to much-deserved Swiss bands and expanding not only their reach across Europe and the U.S., but mostly to create a milieu for friends who follow and love the music of the 60s and 70s.
The label soon grew bigger with releases by e.g. Tracy Bryant or Calvin Love, who both receive international attention within the scene. Thanks to them the press became aware of the music label and was being featured in bigger music zines / blogs such as Uncut or Hero Magazine. However, Taxi Gauche Records' goal still is to support the artists in a close environment and remain a family of artists working together among themselves.
Latest releases include Annie Taylor's 'Sweet Mortality', an eagerly awaited debut album by female-fronted singer Virginia Jungi or Brion Starr's 2020, the first full length album recorded at the infamous Chateau d’Herouville in France since its closure in 1985. One of the most exciting upcoming releases this spring is LA's post punk band Adult Books' sophomore album 'Grecian Urn'.
